MIKE BOUCHER

Entering the countertop industry in 2006 after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, Mr. Boucher spent 5 years managing a territory for Cosentino North America that stretched from Houston, TX to Lake Charles, LA. Working for this large stone fabricator while earning his degree from the University of Houston, his interactions with customers and delivering successful projects left a strong impact on him. He then became a residential mortgage broker at NRL Mortgage for 7 years before the opportunity with Moderno arrived in 2018.

Combining business knowledge in banking with technical knowledge of the surfacing industry, Mr. Boucher loves how porcelain is rapidly changing what is possible with surfaces. As General Manager of the Houston HUB, what fuels him most in day-to-day operations is building a team environment where a conversation turns into sketches, then brings together the dedication of fellow vendors, suppliers and more to transform ideas into a perfected reality.

FERNANDA SALMON

Joining Cosentino in 2003, Mrs. Salmon began as an administrator in the Bay Area of California, soon being promoted to Operations Manager of the Miami Distribution Center. In 2014, she relocated again to the South Texas Region in the same role before becoming a Quartz Commercial Manager. Having played a prominent role in Cosentino’s exponential growth over a 17-year period, she is most proud of having won a competition back in 2015, working with interior designers to complete a lavish hospitality project inside Houston’s Galleria – using porcelain.

Early on, Mrs. Salmon saw firsthand that porcelain was destined to transform the surfacing industry. Having previously worked with the leadership team at Moderno, she knew they had the collective skills to usher in a new generation of surfaces. Committed to never stop learning, Mrs. Salmon loves how the surfacing industry is a field where there is a new discovery to be made every single day.

GASTON ALVAREZ

Following a full career as a Senior Marketing Director, Mr. Alvarez brings over 20 years of experience in brand strategy and the construction industry. Always ambitious and creative, it was after learning about the technology behind large format porcelain that he quickly fell in love with the surfacing industry. What he appreciates most is how porcelain can be delivered from project conception to completion in days, not weeks, compared to natural stone.

Priding himself most on building and managing relationships, Mr. Alvarez now focuses on business development with Moderno. He finds inspiration in the quote by filmmaker James Cameron, “If you set your goals ridiculously high and it’s a failure, you will fail above everyone else’s successes.” Every day, his goal is to read, learn, and continue satisfying Moderno’s clients to the fullest extent.

In addition to being an avid mountain biker and soccer fanatic (who cheers on Manchester United, Juventus, and Real Madrid), he loves spending time with his wife and two daughters.
